GLENN: Yes, I remember seeing that email come in. But people will still say that this kind of thing is risky – what do you say to that?

JANET: Again – sometimes it is. And anyone who tells you otherwise is lying. Even with a safest approach like this one – sometimes, things won’t go according to plan.

But you know what? We think that’s OK.

Of course, if you’re careful – and believe me, WE ARE – then it’s easy to carefully limit your risk on every single move you make.

Do people lose tonnes of money trading forex? Some do…

But it’s almost always because they get arrogant and decide they don’t need their risk-protection “safety nets” any more…

And then they’re surprised when their trading bank gets wiped out?!

Funnily enough, this arrogance seems to be most common among so-called professionals. And from time to time, they lose billions for their banks and make the headlines.

Kevin says that he probably spent more time working out his risk-management rules than he did working out how to make money…

After all – if it was your family’s future on the line, you’d do exactly the same.

I guess things are different if you’re a banker pushing around millions of pounds of other people’s money. But I wouldn’t know – and I don’t really want to.

Like Kevin said, with this you never risk more than 3% on any one trade…

GLENN: You mentioned professional traders there – most people who read Shortcut are just normal people like me so is this really suited to them?

JANET: Honestly, I was the same. My first thought was that ‘trading’ was only for so-called professionals – pinstriped banker types with flash cars and City offices…

At least, those were the stereotypes I’d been carrying around since the 1980s…

But today, things couldn’t be more different.
